MOSCOW: Russia has recorded 22,160 new cases of Covid-19 and 769 related deaths over the past 24 hours, the coronavirus operative response headquarters reported on Monday.
"Russia has recorded 22,160 new confirmed coronavirus cases (Covid-19) in 85 regions over the past 24 hours, including 1,914 (8.6%) cases identified proactively without any clinical symptoms manifested," the headquarters said.
As many as 769 patients have died nationwide over the past 24 hours, including 59 in Moscow, 40 in St. Petersburg, and 38 in the Perm territory, and 14,474 patients have recovered and been released from hospital.
Moscow has recorded 2,150 daily cases of Covid-19 (the largest number among all of Russia's regions) and 2,618 recoveries on Monday. St. Petersburg has identified 1,895 and the Moscow region 1,487 patients with coronavirus.
The cumulative number of new coronavirus infection cases recorded in Russia since March 2, 2020, when the first Covid-19 case was detected in the country, has reached 6,469,910, with 165,650 related deaths and 5,769,981 recoveries. Thus, the number of active cases now stands at 534,279.
Specialists have carried out more than 169.4 million tests for Covid-19 in Russia during the pandemic, including some 411,000 tests over the past 24 hours, according to Russian public health and consumer rights watchdog Rospotrebnadzor.
As many as 1,258,331 people remain under medical supervision nationwide.
